Enjoying Britain’s Heritage

TRAVELLERS RESOURCE is a  free online magazine, and similar to the successful Photographers Resource produced by the same non profit publisher, it will grow month on month with new locations and articles all fully indexed in a number of ways so that it grows rapidly into a major resource. The first issue will be January 2011 coming out at Christmas 2010.

TRAVELLERS RESOURCE is themed ‘Enjoying Britain’s Heritage’, and looks at heritage in the wider sense of countryside, culture as well as historic and other tourism attractions. It will look at people spending days, weekends and longer periods out in Britain, featuring places to stay, visit, and carrying articles on regions and areas, on specific interests, on heritage subjects, attractions you can visit and more.

It is being designed to have a wide appeal, with articles aimed at young couples, singles looking for someone to enjoy time with, families and the younger active retired.  It will feature in most issues a route guide that links a number of places that can be visited in an area, for different time lengths. It will carry articles of an instructional nature from using grid references to what sort of socks and boots are suitable for each type of activity.  Introductory articles on different themes, architectural items and adding an historic or other perspective will expand the enjoyment people get from their visits.

The Location Guides and Galleries of photos in TRAVELLERS RESOURCE will be similar to Photographers Resource, but TRAVELLERS RESOURCE will only feature places deemed to be worth a visit from a leisure or interest perspective, rather than blanket listings on a topic, for example while Photographers Resource lists every windmill site in the UK, even if there is not much left, TRAVELLERS RESOURCE will feature the 190 with sails, similarly while Photographers Resource tells you of every known location ever of a stone circle, TRAVELLERS RESOURCE will tell you only about those that have something to see to justify your visit. TRAVELLERS RESOURCE will also feature classified systems, allowing short entries and overall greater coverage of attractions open to the public, these entries will not necessarily contain a lot of detail but linking elsewhere to other sources of information. Further classified systems will highlight accommodation, an introductions service and more.

TRAVELLERS RESOURCE like Photographers Resource will encourage others to submit articles and galleries, but will also have articles ghost written based on a reader, user, models or celebrity, that will introduce interests and encourage further study, exploration, and ideas for romantic and other weekends.

TRAVELLERS RESOURCE initially will be based on the UK, but portals on travelling to and highlight of what you can see in other countries will be added from time to time, each based on a single country.

So Travellers-Resource.co.uk is a new FREE monthly online magazine for all those interested in travelling, exploring and taking interesting holidays.

It will be in some ways similar to the established online magazine for photographers, www.photographers-resource.co.uk, produced by the same editorial team.  See also www.photographers-resource.co.uk, and the first edition can be found here from Christmas 2010.
